My parents never knew that the mission trip to Guatemala they paid for as my Confirmation gift would be an experience that would turn my life upside down. But that is exactly what happened. In December 2012 my mother and I left for Guatemala after an embarrassing incident involving a fanny pack and me leaving one of my bags at security but we finally made it to our gate, excited for our 10 day mission trip. I’m not going to go into a whole lot of detail because this trip was two years ago and not extremely fresh in my mind. But, what I will never forget is that it was on this trip that my passion for missions and traveling took full force, and since then I have not quenched that thirst.
