Evan
What do you want to be when you grow up? I have spent a long time reflecting on that simple question. It has brought me on many journeys, from wanting to be a fighter pilot in the Air Force, to wanting to work in IT, all the way to doing ministry. If there is one thing I have learned it is that when God says move, you better move. Like any parent, He will be patient while you try to do things your own way, but eventually He always wins…and I’m glad He does. I have spent the last 5 years in full-time active ministry ranging from middle-schoolers to college and young adults. My focus and my passion lies within high school ministry. I am amazed everyday by what is being thrown at the young church and all I can say to that is BRING IT ON!!! There is nothing that we cannot stand as long as we stand with Christ and Christ’s Church. I strive to show people of all ages that our church is not outdated, but it is so on fire for truth, authenticity and for what is good and beautiful.

“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.“ Matthew 16:18

I have played drums with Jaime Roberts and the Mobile Mission Band (and still do on occasion) for the past 5 years and have played for many events, including the Travelers Mass for Steubenville Atlanta. I have given talks addressing a multitude of topics on church teachings, including moral and family issues, drugs and alcohol, chastity and pornography. I have prepared weekend retreats and have worked with Religious Education Directors on reaching teens in relevant ways. In working with Jaime and David, we came up with the idea to start Mobile Mission Productions as a part of the Mobile Mission. We feel this is a way to use everyone’s gifts while reaching out to the rest of the world through media.

I served in the GA Army National Guard and have been working for Kennesaw State University as an Information Security Specialist while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Last bit about me: I know I use ‘I’ a lot, but know this: I AM NOTHING without the GOD I SERVE. All the accomplishments, all the praise, all the good times and bad times mean nothing if I do it for myself. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide, you never know what kind of trips you will be led on. Who knows? You could end up meeting some of the best friends you have ever had...and those friends might just ask you to drive a bus one day :)

A Parent’s Joy

As most of you are aware, I recently arrived at the Mundelein Seminary in Illinois for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. While the transition has been, at times, the best thing I have ever done – at others, it’s been a time of extreme struggle and strife – as the storm rages in the heart of anyone following the will of

Control – Chisel

A few months back, my co-teacher and I were planning our weekly PSR (or CCD) class, and the topic was on God’s plan for your life. He shared a video with me and wanted my thoughts on sharing it with the class. The first time I watched it I was only half paying attention but the video had some funny

Made For Greatness

What kind of person do you want to be? Some might say successful, others, happy, and yet others might say fulfilled. These are all beautiful answers and all have their individual values but none of them paint the whole picture. We have all been created with dignity and an intrinsic value that God wants more for you then just happiness

3…2…1…The Jump of a Lifetime

Have you ever been called to do something but felt that you were unqualified or unworthy to do so? Maybe you were asked to be the best man, or maid of honor at a wedding, or maybe been asked to lead a team at work in a new direction. There are countless times in our lives that we are called

Take Up Your Cross Daily

Have you ever been in that place where you are so upset or so mad that you throw your “Christianity” out the window? I have. I am in the military and am currently at a training event. We were sent out to an area that was nothing but ankle-deep mud so we could help resupply a unit that had been

Deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me

Being a Christian is easy. As long as you pray everyday and go to church you will never have struggles and everything will be peachy. But wait, did Christ not say in John 15:20 “Remember the word I spoke to you,* ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept
